CARES provides the Michigan Public Health Institute and the Michigan Bureau of Community Action and Economic Opportunity with access to data, maps, and reporting tools through a series of mapping and reporting widgets. These data and tools support public health and community action agencies across the state by providing access to reliable needs assessment data.

Local Health Department Communicable Disease Dashboards

CARES hosts and updates a series of local public health dashboards that provide citizens and the media with easy access to data on reportable diseases. Data are shown for more than 15 diseases in the county with benchmarks for previous years. CARES hosts dashboards for Andrew, Butler, Carter, Cass, Cooper, and Harrison counties in Missouri.

Inland Northwest Insights

The Inland Northwest Insights Hub was active between 2018 and 2022. The Hub was a collaborative effort between regional grantmaking foundations, community health experts, and social service providers that serve counties throughout the Inland Northwest. The Hub was supported by contributions from the Lewis-Clark Valley Healthcare Foundation, Syringa Hospital, Idaho Community Foundation, and Innovia Foundation.

Recovery Friendly Workplaces Missouri

Missouri’s Recovery Friendly Workplaces program promotes employee safety, health, and well-being by reducing stigma and providing recovery resources related to the challenges surrounding substance use disorders. The Recovery Friendly Workplaces Hub provides resources to employers on how to become a recovery friendly workplace.

CARES COVID-19 Dashboards

CARES hosted a suite of COVID-19 data dashboards at the national, state, and local levels between 2020 and 2023 as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Massachusetts Department of Health

The Massachusetts Population Health Information Tool (PHIT) is a suite of reporting and mapping platforms designed to help visitors find community and state-specific data quickly and easily. With access to over 100 indicators, the Community and State Reporting tools provide access to up-to-date data on social determinants of health, as well as health behaviors, health outcomes, and healthcare delivery. The platform also hosts a resource library and the Massachusetts Map Room.

Boone County Food Insecurity

Boone County Food Coalition brings together local stakeholders to address food insecurity in the Boone County area. CARES provided data acquisition and mapping services to the Coalition.

United Way of Greater St. Louis logo

United Way of Greater St. Louis Regional Needs Report

RegionalNeeds.org was an interactive Community Needs Assessment sponsored by the United Way of Greater St. Louis. The CNA spanned 16 counties across two states (Illinois and Missouri). The CNA served the St. Louis community as a foundation to better understand what challenges people in the region are facing. The report also highlighted the most common needs across the Greater St. Louis region.

US News and World Report Healthiest Communities Rankings

The U.S. News Healthiest Communities relies on CARES to provide data and data analysis for their annual rankings. The Healthiest Communities rankings measure crucial health-related components of society. The project scores nearly 3,000 counties on 84 indicators across 10 categories that drive overall community health.
