The public school revenue data for the school year 2021-22 are now available. Data were from the NCES CCD SY 2021-22 School District Finance Survey (F-33). Variables reported include total revenue, revenue per student, and revenue composition from federal, state, and local sources.

The public school expenditures data for the school year 2021-22 are now available. Data were from the NCES CCD SY 2021-22 School District Finance Survey (F-33). Variables reported include total expenditures, expenditures per student, and expenditures composition (instruction, support services, capital outlay, and non-elementary/secondary education).

Additional data tables and charts added to report median home value by householder race and Hispanic ethnicity.

Six new data tables and charts added to report data on home ownership and mortgage status by household race and Hispanic ethnicity. Data report included: Owner-occupied households with a mortgage by race alone (total and percentage), Total; Owner-occupied households with a mortgage by Hispanic ethnicity alone (total and percentage); Owner-occupied households without a mortgage (paid off) by race alone (total and percentage), Total; Owner-occupied households without a mortgage (paid off) by Hispanic ethnicity alone (total and percentage).

New maps and data are now available for the Banking Deserts – Active Branches, Distance to Branches in Desert, Distance to Branches in Potential Desert Indicators from the Fed Communiites.

The home mortgage lending data for the year of 2022 are now available. Data were derived from the 2022 Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) loan-level files and reflect lending activity reported by financial institutions.

New maps and data are now available for the lending to businesses with revenues under $1 million, by amount and number of loans indicator from the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC) Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) 2023 Aggregate data.

The new seven-year average infant mortality data for 2016-2022 are now available. Data were from the National Center for Health Statistics – Mortality files and are used for the 2025 County Health Rankings. The seven-year average number of infant deaths per 1,000 live birth are reported for US states and counties with >= 20 teen births over the report period.

The new three-year average life expectancy data for the years of 2020-2022 are now available. Data were from the National Center for Health Statistics – Mortality Files (2020-2022) and are used for the 2025 County Health Rankings. The average number of years a person can expect to live are reported for US states and counties with fewer than 5,000 population-years-at-risk over the report period.

The new school segregation index data are now available for the year of 2023-2024. Data were from the 2023-2024 National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) and are used for the 2025 County Health Rankings. This indicator reports the extent to which students within different race and ethnicity groups are unevenly distributed across schools when compared with the racial and ethnic composition of the local population. The school segregation index are reported for US counties and states over the report period.
