CARES, in partnership with Colorado State University, engaged in a series of listening and design sessions with stakeholders from across CSU Extension to learn more about their data needs and potential solutions. CARES summarized and synthesized findings from the sessions and delivered recommendations and a roadmap to CSU OEE for review and planning.

The Association of Health Care Journalists (AHCJ), through hospitalfinancies.org, provides access to IRS 990 data for nonprofit hospitals in the United States. CARES maintains hospitalfinances.org and updates the database with IRS 990 data when available.

All Things Nebraska serves as Nebraska’s central data and mapping resource for policy-makers, business owners, farmers, and community organizations working to resolve issues related to: agriculture, economic development, health, well-being, and safety. All Things Nebraska provides access to national, state, and local (Nebraska-sourced) data all in one platform. It hosts the Nebraska Map Room and tools to support University of Nebraska Extension programs and services.

CARES maintained and curated mobroadband.org (formerly known as the Missouri Broadband Resource Rail) and supported broadband research and projects through data collection, analysis, and mapping from 2017 to 2026. CARES supported a robust Broadband Needs Assessment, broadband-focused map galleries, the Missouri Digital Asset Map, and the underlying technology for the site. MoBroadband is a project of the Office of Engagement and Extension at the University of Missouri and is governed by the UM Broadband Steering Committee.

Missouri’s Recovery Friendly Workplaces program promotes employee safety, health, and well-being by reducing stigma and providing recovery resources related to the challenges surrounding substance use disorders. The Recovery Friendly Workplaces Hub provides resources to employers on how to become a recovery friendly workplace.

CARES hosted a suite of COVID-19 data dashboards at the national, state, and local levels between 2020 and 2023 as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Police Stop Disparities Report

This report examines racial disparity in Columbia (MO) Police Department traffic stops across age, sex, varying levels of geography, reasons for initiating post-stop searches, post-search outcomes, and factors that predict the likelihood that a stopped driver is Black. Disparity, discrimination, and racial bias in policing have been historically, and continue to be, an important policy issue.

United Way of Greater St. Louis Regional Needs Report

RegionalNeeds.org was an interactive Community Needs Assessment sponsored by the United Way of Greater St. Louis. The CNA spanned 16 counties across two states (Illinois and Missouri). The CNA served the St. Louis community as a foundation to better understand what challenges people in the region are facing. The report also highlighted the most common needs across the Greater St. Louis region.

Missouri Vocational Rehabilitation Portal

The Vocational Rehabilitation Hub facilitates the recordkeeping of Pre-Employment Transition services provided by trained educational specialists throughout the state of Missouri. Services fall into one of the following categories: Job Exploration, Work-based Learning, Post-secondary Counseling, Workplace Readiness and Self Advocacy. Using the Hub, Specialists record service(s) provided to individual students on a daily basis. Services are aggregated and sent to the state Vocational Rehabilitation office every month to support their federal reporting mandate.
