Net Migration of Young Adults by County, 2000 to 2010
This layer displays the net migration rate for young adults (age 20 – 39) in United States counties between 2000 and 2010. Net migration is the balance of immigration and emigration over a given time period. Net migration does not include natural change, or change due to births and deaths. It is important to understand the migration patterns of young adults as their geographic patterns will impact the economy and shape the future workforce.
Locations of SNAP-Authorized Retailers
This layer displays the locations of SNAP authorized retailers across the US. Data has been updated to reflect stores accepting SNAP as of December 22, 2017.
Mental Health Treatment Facilities
This layer displays locations and attributes for SAMHSA-certified mental health treatment facilities. Locations are obtained from the US Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Behavioral Health Treatment Services Locator and are current as of February 8th, 2017.
Recreation Dependent Counties
Recreation dependent counties are determined by a weighted index of three measures: 1. Jobs; 2. Earnings in the following: entertainment, recreation, accommodations, eating/drinking places, and real estate; and 3. the share of vacant housing units intended for seasonal/occasional use. Opiate Prescription Rates
The data in the maps show the geographic distribution in the United States, at both state and county levels, of retail opioid prescriptions dispensed per 100 persons from 2006–2016. Data are displayed using state and county level boundaries. The state maps portray these rates for each of the 50 states plus the District of Columbia. The county maps portray these rates for almost all U.S. counties for a given year from 2006-2016.
Manufacturing Dependent Counties
Manufacturing dependent counties are those where 23% or more of the county’s average annual labor and proprietors’ earning were derived from manufacturing, or 16% or more of jobs were in manufacturing, as measured by 2010-12 Bureau of Economic Analysis, Local Area Personal Income and Employment data.
Eviction Rates
This layer displays data about evictions in the United States. Data is available from 2000 – 2016. The data was produced by Eviction Lab at Princeton Univesity. Information about data methodology and definitions can be obtained from EvictionLab.org
Adults with no Leisure-Time Physical Activity by County, 2015
Layer displays the estimated percentage of adults who do not participate in any leisure-time physical activity. These figures are multi-year modeled estimates based on survey data from the CDC Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System.
