Income from Transfer Payments, 2013

Layer displays information about personal income from transfer payments from the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) Local Area Personal Income data series. In personal income, transfer receipts are benefits received by persons for which no current services are performed. Additional attributes include transfer benefits per capita, and percent change in benefits between 2009 and 2013.

Lung Cancer Incidence Rates, 2008-12

Layer displays lung cancer incidence rates per 100,000 population by state and county. Additional map layers from this update include incidence rates for breast, cervical, colon / rectum, and prostate cancer.

Physical Inactivity by County, 2011

Layer displays the estimated percentage of adults who do not participate in any leisure-time physical activity. These figures are multi-year modeled estimates based on survey data from the CDC Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System.

Places of Worship, 2014

This layer displays locations of places of worship. Address-level data are acquired from the IRS Exempt Organization Business Master File Extract (EO BMF) based on filing requirement code.

Majority-Minority Schools

This layer displays the location of public schools where the majority (50% or more) of the student body is a minority race or ethnicity (American Indian, Asian, Black, Hispanic/Latino, Pacific Islander, or Multiple Race). This point-level data is acquired from the 2013-2014 National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) Common Core of Data (CCD).

Home Loan Originations by Applicant Race/Ethnicity

Layers display data from the 2012 Home Mortgage Disclosure Act flat files. Data is available for all counties and census tracts in the United States and depicts the total number and percentage of home loan originations by primary applicant race and ethnicity.

Locations of SNAP-Authorized Retailers

This layer displays information regarding the locations and characteristics of SNAP authorized retailers across the US. Data has been updated to reflect stores accepting SNAP as of May 20, 2014.

Access to Farmer’s Markets

This layer displays the percentage of each county’s population (or low income population) living near a farmer’s market (defined as within a 3 mile radius in urban areas and a 10 mile radius in urban areas).
