Mortality Risk and Change in Mortality Risk by County, 1985-2014

This layer displays mortality risk (percentage) and change in mortality risk by county for the population aged 45-65. Other layers from this dataset display life expectancy at birth and mortality risk for the population under age 5 and for 20-year age groups at the county level for each state, the District of Columbia, and the United States, as well as the changes in life expectancy and mortality risk for each location between 1985 and 2014.

Multi-Family Assisted Housing

Layer displays the approximate locations of Multifamily Assisted Housing properties that are monitored by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The three largest assistance programs for Multifamily housing are Section 8 (Project Based Assistance), Section 202 (Supportive Housing for the Elderly), and Section 811 (Supportive Housing for Persons with Disabilities).

Labor Force Participation Rate by County, 2011-15

Layer displays the labor force participation rate based on data from the 2011-15 American Community Survey. The labor force participation rate is the percentage of the population that is in the labor force. This metric is different from employment rates, which report the percentage of the labor force that is employed. A person who is in the labor force is either actively employed or actively seeking work. Those who are not in the labor force include persons who are going to school or who are retired, persons with family responsibilities keeping them from employment, and discouraged workers.
