This layer displays public school catchment boundaries (attendance zones) for select states and school districts across the United States. Data is from September 2013 and was acquired from the National Center for Educational Statistics (NCES).
Infant Mortality Rate by County
This layer displays information about infant mortality. Total births and infant mortality rates are 5-year averages acquired from the 2012 Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Area Resource File (ARF).
Percent Students Eligible for Free or Reduced Price Lunch
This layer displays information about free and reduced price lunch eligibility among public school students. This point-level data is acquired from the 2012-2013 National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) Common Core of Data (CCD).
Majority-Minority Schools
This layer displays the location of public schools where the majority (50% or more) of the student body is a minority race or ethnicity (American Indian, Asian, Black, Hispanic/Latino, Pacific Islander, or Multiple Race). This point-level data is acquired from the 2012-2013 National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) Common Core of Data (CCD).
Urban Rural Classification Scheme by County, 2013
This dataset is used to study the associations between urbanization level of residence and health and to monitor the health of urban and rural residents. NCHS has developed a six-level urban-rural classification scheme for U.S. counties and county-equivalent entities.
Health Insurance Market Place Enrollment, 2015
The dataset provides the total number of health plan selections by ZIP Code for the 37 states that use the HealthCare.gov platform, including the Federally-facilitated Marketplace, State Partnership Marketplaces and supported State-based Marketplaces. These data reflect the total number of consumers who selected a plan or were automatically re-enrolled for the 2015 coverage year as of January 16, 2015.
The dataset does not include plan selections from the District of Columbia and 13 other states that have State-based Marketplaces.
Data for ZIP Codes with 50 or fewer plan selections are not included to protect individuals’ privacy.
National Transporation Atlas, 2014
Multiple layers from the 2014 release of the National Transportation Atlas (NTA) are now available through Community Commons. The US Department of Transportation releases this annual dataset displaying many transportation related features, ranging from highway and airport locations to fatality accident locations and hazardous material transportation routes. Income from Transfer Payments, 2013
Layer displays information about personal income from transfer payments from the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) Local Area Personal Income data series. In personal income, transfer receipts are benefits received by persons for which no current services are performed. Additional attributes include transfer benefits per capita, and percent change in benefits between 2009 and 2013.
Exempt Organization Rates by ZIP Code and County
This layer displays the total number and rate of tax-exempt organizations classified as 501(c)(3) from the November 2014 Exempt Organizations Business Master File Extract (EO BMF). Data are displayed by county and ZIP Code Tabulation Area (ZCTA).
