Non-Resident Commuting Flow

This layer displays information about county-to-county commuting flows in the state of Missouri. The data uses ACS results about residence county and workplace county to determine commuting numbers. 305b Impaired Streams

The data set contains the names of impaired waters, their unique identification numbers and locations, and identifies specific pollutants and pollutant sources if they are known. This data set is created in conjunction with the Missouri Water Quality Report, which is produced biennially as required by Section 305(b) of the Federal Clean Water Act, and correlates to Tables 14-15 of that report.
The State of Missouri is required under Section 305(b) of the Federal Clean Water Act to biennially assess the condition of all classified waters of the state and report them. It is also useful to group all the impaired waters together and list them, although it is not a specific requirement.

Dams

This data set contains the locations of regulated and non-regulated dams in Missouri. This data is collected and maintained by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Missouri Geological Survey, Water Resources Center (WRC). One of the missions of the Water Resources Center is to ensure that dams in the state are constructed, maintained and operated in a safe manner. This is accomplished by regulation of all non-agricultural, non-federal dams 35 feet or more in height and by providing technical assistance and informational resources to all dam owners.

This data set is created in conjunction with the Missouri Water Quality Report, which is produced biennially as required by Section 305(b) of the Federal Clean Water Act, and correlates to Tables 14-15 of that report.

Aquatic Invertebrate Monitoring Sites

This data set contains locations of samples on streams that were collected for aquatic invertebrate analysis. This data set was developed to provide historical information regarding the locations of aquatic invertebrate sampling events in Missouri and adjacent states. This data is collected and maintained by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Division of Environmental Quality, Envirionmental Services Program, Water Quality Monitoring Section (WQM).

303d Streams

This data set contains Missouri’s 2016 Section 303(d) Listed Waters – Rivers and Streams and is a list of certain impaired waters in the State of Missouri. The list is a requirement of the Federal Clean Water Act and is developed biennially by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources. The list contains the names of impaired waters, their unique identification number and identification of specific pollutants and pollutant sources if they are known. This list has been modified by a state-wide public participation process and by review of the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Waters on the final EPA list must be the subject of a Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) study that stipulated the allowable amount of specific pollutants allowed in these waters. All waters are listed for their full size as given in 10 CSR 20-7.031 Water Quality Standards, Tables H.Section 303(d) of the Federal Water Pollution Control Act requires states to list impaired waters for which adequate water pollution control requirements have not been put in place and for which a TMDL study has not been completed. The metadata content associated with this data set was reviewed by Barb Ruppel on 20150127. The metadata content review is intended to ensure that all of the required content is present. The components comprising the metadata document were reviewed by Barb Ruppel on 20150127.
