National Land Cover Dataset, 2024
The National Land Cover Database (NLCD) serves as the definitive Landsat-based, 30-meter resolution, land cover database for the Nation. NLCD provides spatial reference and descriptive data for characteristics of the land surface such as thematic class (for example, urban, agriculture, and forest), percent impervious surface, and percent tree canopy cover. NLCD supports a wide variety of Federal, State, local, and nongovernmental applications that seek to assess ecosystem status and health, understand the spatial patterns of biodiversity, predict effects of climate change, and develop land management policy. NLCD products are created by the Multi-Resolution Land Characteristics (MRLC) Consortium, a partnership of Federal agencies led by the U.S. Geological Survey.
Threatened and Endangered Species by County
This layer displays the number of threatened and endangered species in each county. Additional layers are available for the type of species, such as plants, animals, invertebrates, and more!
Dominant Language Spoken at Home
This layer displays the predominant language spoken at home (excluding English) for towns and counties in the United States. Data are from the 2018-22 American Community Survey.
Head Start Facilities
This layer displays locations of Head Start facilities in the United States. The Administration for Children and Families (ACF) identifies head start facilities as either a center, an early childhood center, a seasonal / migrant center, or any combination of these designations.
Vizient Vulnerability Index, 2020
This layer shows the overall vulnerability index along with nine domains of social needs for each census tract and ZIP code across the United States. Neighborhoods with scores greater than 1 are identified as areas of “high vulnerability,” meaning they face specific obstacles to care that are more than one standard deviation above the national average.
LEHD Commuting Data
This layer displays the net commuting flow for counties and census tracts from the 2022 LEHD Location-Origin Dataset. Other commuting data layers are also available in the same data release including out commuters, in commuters, and workplace area characteristics. These other layers can be found by searching for LEHD.
FCC Fabric – Providers of Broadband Level Service June, 2024
This layer displays the total number of providers that provide broadband level services. Only records with copper, cable, fiber, or licensed fixed wireless are counted.
FCC Fabric Location Data, Pct Meeting 25/3+ MBPS June, 2024
This layer displays aggregated location based data from the FCC that’s gathered through the Broadband Data Collection program. The number of locations was derived from the number of unique location ids for each block group and aggregated up. Location ids may include multiple units which are not included in our calculations. The number of locations that meet broadband definitions are only for those locations served the required speeds by copper, cable, fiber, or licensed fixed wireless. Satellite, un-licensed fixed wireless, or ‘other’ are not included in our broadband calculations. A location is considered served by wireless alone if it meets the broadband definition (25/3+) by a wireless provider and is not served by any other technology type (not including satellite).
Small Business Loans
The new lending to businesses with revenues under $1 million, by amount and number of loans. Data are retrieved from Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC) Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) 2022 Aggregate data. Data includes amount, percent, and number of loans.
