Layer displays information about the residential address vacancies reported by the United States Postal Service and the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Data is from the 3rd quarter of 2013 (June – September) and is available at the census tract geographic level. An updated map of business address vacancies is also available.

Layer displays information about housing units lacking complete plumbing facilities. Complete plumbing facilities include: (a) hot and cold running water, (b) a flush toilet, and (c) a bathtub or shower.

Layer displays information about the insurance status of the population age 0-64. The data are from the 2013 Small Area Health Insurance Estimates, released by the US Census Bureau in March 2015.

Layer displays updated food insecurity rates for US counties. Food insecurity refers to USDA’s measure of lack of access, at times, to enough food for an active, healthy life for all household members and limited or uncertain availability of nutritionally adequate foods. Data is from Feeding America’s Map the Meal Gap program, which estimates food insecurity using 2009-13 data.
