Health Insurance Market Place Enrollment, 2015

The dataset provides the total number of health plan selections by ZIP Code for the 37 states that use the HealthCare.gov platform, including the Federally-facilitated Marketplace, State Partnership Marketplaces and supported State-based Marketplaces. These data reflect the total number of consumers who selected a plan or were automatically re-enrolled for the 2015 coverage year as of January 16, 2015.

The dataset does not include plan selections from the District of Columbia and 13 other states that have State-based Marketplaces.

Data for ZIP Codes with 50 or fewer plan selections are not included to protect individuals’ privacy.

Rural vs. Urban Household Poverty

This layer displays information about the difference between rural and urban childhood poverty across the United States. Data are based on census-tract level information from the 2008-12 American Community Survey. Census tracts are defined as urban or rural based on 2010 US Census Bureau definitions; tract level information is then aggregated to and displayed at the Public Use Microdata Area (PUMA) geographic level.

Majority-Minority Schools

This layer displays the location of public schools where the majority (50% or more) of the student body is a minority race or ethnicity (American Indian, Asian, Black, Hispanic/Latino, Pacific Islander, or Multiple Race). This point-level data is acquired from the 2013-2014 National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) Common Core of Data (CCD).

National Transporation Atlas, 2014

Multiple layers from the 2014 release of the National Transportation Atlas (NTA) are now available through Community Commons. The US Department of Transportation releases this annual dataset displaying many transportation related features, ranging from highway and airport locations to fatality accident locations and hazardous material transportation routes. The ‘view map’ link displays the motor vehicle fatality accidents. For additional indicators from the dataset, search the Map Room for the term NTA.
