Map layers from the 2020 Business Dynamics Statistics database are now available! This Census Bureau dataset contains information on establishment and employment changes between 2019 and 2020. The linked map layer displays the rate of change for total business establishments between 2019 and 2020 in counties across the United States. Rates are calculated per 100 ‘initial year’ business establishments.
Area Deprivation Index by Census Block Group
The 2020 Area Deprivation Index is now available! The ADI map displays rankings of neighborhoods by socioeconomic status disadvantage in a region of interest (e.g. at the state or national level). It includes factors for the theoretical domains of income, education, employment, and housing quality. It can be used to inform health delivery and policy, especially for the most disadvantaged neighborhood groups. The 2020 ADI was constructed using the 2016-2020 5-year estimates from the US Census’ American Community Survey.
Food Insecurity Rate by County, 2020
Layer displays updated food insecurity rates for US counties. Food insecurity refers to USDA’s measure of lack of access, at times, to enough food for an active, healthy life for all household members and limited or uncertain availability of nutritionally adequate foods. Data is from Feeding America’s Map the Meal Gap program.
Brownfield Sites
Layer displays the locations of brownfield sites based on the September 2013 version of the EPA Assessment, Cleanup and Redevelopment Exchange System (ACRES) database.
Premature Death for 2016-20 by County
This layer displays premature death rates from the CDC’s National Vital Statistics System – Mortality database. Data are 5-year aggregates for 2016-20 and grouped by ICD-10 codes.
FCC Broadband Access
This layer displays Broadband access information at the County, Tract, and Block Group Level as of June, 2021.
US Congressional Districts, Session 117
This TIGER Data layer was created from the Topologically Integrated Geographic Encoding and Referencing (TIGER) database of the U.S. Census Bureau. TIGER products provide vital information about: Line Features (roads, railroads, hydrography, transportation and utility lines) and Boundary Features (Census Tracts, Blocks, Counties, Places, Tribal Lands, political districts and etc.) More information can be found at TIGER Products.
Estimated Pesticide Use by County
This layer shows the estimated agricultural use of pesticide compounds for counties in the contiguous lower 48 states. Total pesticide use was calculated per area and for area in agricultural land. Additional layers for glyphosate, metolachlor, atrazine, acetochlor, 2,4-D were also calculated and available in the map room as separate layers!
Pulic Education Revenue
This layer data from the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) Common Core of Data (CCD) School District Finance Survey. The survey provides finance data for all local education agencies (LEAs) that provide free public elementary and secondary education in the United States. County-level data was generated by CARES by aggregating school-district level records with valid reported figures for total students and total expenditures.
Revenues are gained by each public school district through federal, state, and local funding.
