Labor Force Changes
Layer displays information about the changes in numbers of people counted as being a part of the labor force as defined by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). Data is shown for labor force changes between 1, 3, 5, and 10 year intervals from both the current month and the annual 2012 numbers. Premature Death Rate (Deaths Before Age 65)
This layer displays information about premature mortality, defined as deaths that occur before age 65. Toggle data types to view the disparity index score for this indicator, which measures the variation in death rates across racial/ethnic groups.
Rural vs. Urban Household Poverty
This layer displays information about the difference between rural and urban childhood poverty across the United States. Data are based on census-tract level information from the 2008-12 American Community Survey. Census tracts are defined as urban or rural based on 2010 US Census Bureau definitions; tract level information is then aggregated to and displayed at the Public Use Microdata Area (PUMA) geographic level.
Locations of Primary Care Physicians
This layer displays the locations of all primary care physicians who accept Medicare. Primary care physicians are those MDs or DOs specializing in family practice, general practice, pediatric medicine, or internal medicine. Data are from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Physician and Other Supplier 2012 Public Use File (PUF), which was released in April 2014, and from the 2013 CMS Physician Compare National Downloadable File.
Income from Veterans Benefits, 2013
Layer displays information about transfer payments income from veterans’ benefits from the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) Local Area Personal Income data series. Additional attributes include transfer benefits per capita, and percent change in benefits between 2009 and 2013.
