This layer displays percent of population living in urban areas as of 2020. Urban areas are identified using population density, count, and size thresholds. This data was released as part of the decennial census in April 2020. Learn more about this dataset at Census.gov.
Population Living in Rural Areas
This layer displays percent of population living in rural areas as of 2020. This data was released as part of the decennial census in April 2020. Learn more about this dataset at Census.gov.
Occupied Housing Units
This layer displays information from the US 2020 Decennial Census, which provides occupied housing units for all geographic areas. Broadband Serviceable Locations with No Funding and No Service
This layer shows the estimated percent of all broadband serviceable locations in a county that have not received any federal funding and do not have service that is at least 25 MBPS down and 3 MBPS up.
FCC Fabric Location Data, Pct Meeting 25/3+ MBPS Dec, 2022
This layer displays aggregated location based data from the FCC that’s gathered through the Broadband Data Collection program. The number of locations was derived from the number of unique location ids for each block group and aggregated up. Location ids may include multiple units which are not included in our calculations. The number of locations that meet broadband definitions are only for those locations served the required speeds by copper, cable, fiber, or licensed fixed wireless. Satellite, un-licensed fixed wireless, or ‘other’ are not included in our broadband calculations. A location is considered served by wireless alone if it meets the broadband definition (25/3+) by a wireless provider and is not served by any other technology type (not including satellite).
FCC Fabric – Providers of Broadband Level Service Dec, 2022
This layer displays the total number of providers that provide broadband level services. Only records with copper, cable, fiber, or licensed fixed wireless are counted.
EJ Screen RMP Facility Proximity
The RMP facility proximity is reflective of the total count of RMP facilities in each block group within 5
km of the average resident in a block group, divided by distance, calculated as the population-weighted
average of blocks in each block group
EJ Screen Hazardous Waste Proximity
The hazardous waste proximity indicator is reflective of the total count of hazardous waste facilities in
each block group within 5 km of the average resident in a block group, divided by distance, calculated as
the population-weighted average of blocks in each block group. Hazardous waste facilities are defined as
Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) handlers that are either operating TSDFs from RCRA or
