Outstanding National Resource Water – Watersheds

This feature class contains watersheds associated with Missouri’s use designations for waters listed in Table D – Outstanding National Resource Waters of the Water Quality Standards rule published in the Missouri Code of State Regulations (CSR), 10 CSR 20-7.031, on January 29, 2014 and approved by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), on October 22, 2014. The primary purpose is to delineate the watersheds described in 10 CSR 20-7.015(6)(A) for the streams listed in Table D using the United States Geological Survey (USGS) 1:24,000 National Hydrography data set (NHD).

305b Impaired Streams

The data set contains the names of impaired waters, their unique identification numbers and locations, and identifies specific pollutants and pollutant sources if they are known. This data set is created in conjunction with the Missouri Water Quality Report, which is produced biennially as required by Section 305(b) of the Federal Clean Water Act, and correlates to Tables 14-15 of that report.
The State of Missouri is required under Section 305(b) of the Federal Clean Water Act to biennially assess the condition of all classified waters of the state and report them. It is also useful to group all the impaired waters together and list them, although it is not a specific requirement.

Dams

This data set contains the locations of regulated and non-regulated dams in Missouri. This data is collected and maintained by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Missouri Geological Survey, Water Resources Center (WRC). One of the missions of the Water Resources Center is to ensure that dams in the state are constructed, maintained and operated in a safe manner. This is accomplished by regulation of all non-agricultural, non-federal dams 35 feet or more in height and by providing technical assistance and informational resources to all dam owners.

Aquatic Invertebrate Monitoring Sites

This data set contains locations of samples on streams that were collected for aquatic invertebrate analysis. This data set was developed to provide historical informaiton regarding the locations of aquatic invertebrate sampling events in Missouri and adjacent states. This data is collected and maintained by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Division of Environmental Quality, Envirionmental Services Program, Water Quality Monitoring Section (WQM).
