Opiate Prescription Rates
The data in the maps show the geographic distribution in the United States, at both state and county levels, of retail opioid prescriptions dispensed per 100 persons from 2006–2016. Data are displayed using state and county level boundaries. The state maps portray these rates for each of the 50 states plus the District of Columbia. The county maps portray these rates for almost all U.S. counties for a given year from 2006-2016.
Prescription Drug Claims for Opioids by ZIP Code and County, 2015
Layer displays the percentage of claims for prescription drugs among Medicare Part D beneficiaries that were for opioid drugs in 2015. Data is available by county, ZIP Code Tabulation Area (ZCTA) and by physician (address).

This layer displays opioid overdose mortality rates from the CDC’s National Vital Statistics System – Mortality database. Data are 5-year aggregates for 2013-17 and grouped by ICD-10 codes.
